Day by day
Eight of us are riding California's Pacific Coast this September, traveling from Los Altos to Los Angeles over eight days, September 5 to 12, 2026. Following one of the most scenic cycling routes in North America, we'll climb coastal headlands, descend into seaside towns, and cover the route one day at a time.
The tour is hotel-based, allowing us to travel light. A minimally supported SAG vehicle, driven by two of our spouses, transports our luggage between overnight stops while carrying ride essentials such as snacks, water, and morale boosts.
This site documents the journey, including the route, daily stages, elevation profiles leading up to our departure. Ride photos to come soon.
A self-supported bike tour down the California coast, loosely inspired by Adventure Cycling's Pacific Coast route — see how our planned days line up against it on the route comparison page.
