Hello friend, my name is Scott Gruber.
I am a designer, developer and craftsman building an ethical design practice grounded in accessibility, performance and aesthetics.
A little about me
I work at the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. I have over twenty years experience working in various media including print, video and the web and worked at UCLA most of my career.
I enjoy sharing my experiences building websites. Last year, I started public speaking and gave over a dozen presentations at Creative Code Fest LA, UCLA, NASA Space Hackathon at Innovate Pasadena, FwdLabs and WordCamp LAX. I’ve posted all my talks on my speaker’s site.
I’d like to do more in 2019. If you’d like me to speak at your event please reach out and let’s chat.
Since December 2018, I’ve been working with the LA Audubon society as a volunteer to rebuild their website. And I’m proud to be starting my third year as a volunteer at the UCLA Health System Patient Technology Council. It’s a roundtable of patients, doctors, nurses and programmers that serves as a user experience advocacy group.
I care about making websites work for everyone and consider myself an inclusive designer.
Check out what I’m doing now.
